After traveling about 8-1/2 miles, Dena rounded a corner to a strange sensation of someone watching her; she just caught a glimpse of Jennie standing in the shadows on a hillside above the road, fighting flies. Jennie still had hobbles on, but her legs and been chaffed raw from their rubbing back and forth as she ran. Dena removed the hobbles and sat down beside the road to rest and wait for help, as well as get ideas on what to do next. After leaving Dena, Debie searched the road for tracks other than the ones she and Dena had made. Upon reaching the message left by the others, she realized that they had found at least two of the horses, Britt and Echo, because it was their
