The horses definietely needed a lunch break. Dena turned off from the trail to Berry Patch onto trail #86. A short ways up the trail she again turned off across a meadow and crossed a little stream into a grassy hillside. There was a small camp with logs to sit on and a campfire ring beside some tall trees that provided the camp with shelter from the winds.

Everyone unsaddled the horses to let them roll and graze. It was early afternoon and only a couple hours above Berry Patch, so the group had several hours to relax. They weren’t expecting the pickup crew until about 7:00 pm.

It was a peaceful camp, they were far enough off the trail not to see or be bothered by anyone and there was enough grass for the horses and plenty of room for the riders to spread out for a rest. The stream that flowed beside and
